As a boy, Maciej Krawczyk dreamed of designing LEGO sets. He was fascinated by making something new, and could spend hour after hour discovering what else he could build from the pieces at hand. The curiosity never left him.
At 19, he took a job in a goldsmith’s workshop. There he saw jewellery production at scale for the first time: the machines and the whole complex technical process behind every piece. At first he spent most of his time operating and programming the production machines and checking the quality of the finished jewellery. That world fascinated him, so after hours he learned hand goldsmithing from the ground up under an experienced master goldsmith, making his first designs.
The wish to create original designs led him to learn 3D modelling. In time he developed his skills in programming as well, building his own tools for visualising and configuring jewellery, and designing websites.
Today, with the tools he has mastered, Maciej designs the Fadaria collections himself. In every one he returns to the same idea: precision comes from knowing how jewellery is really made.
